Europe’s first biodiversity park is taking shape in Turku through Urban Biodiversity Parks project. The park combines innovative solutions, community involvement, and education to strengthen biodiversity. Several renovation works have already taken place, and new features such as calcareous meadow and a landscape artwork are on the way.

New forms of participation are being promoted in the Turku neighborhoods of Halinen and Jyrkkälä through the Urban Biodiversity Parks project. The project is now boldly testing how residents can participate in developing their own neighbourhoods while increasing urban nature. The goal is to combine nature management and community spirit.
