Staff from Ireland’s 31 local authorities and other relevant stakeholders are cordially invited to join this European Urban Initiative (EUI) capacity-building and training event in Monaghan Town.

The event titled ‘Reimagining Places: Sustainable Conservation of Ireland’s Beautiful Heritage – An EUI Capacity Building Event Under THRIVE and beyond’ is free and will take place in Monaghan Peace Campus on November 26 and 27.

The 1.5-day event sets out to support local authority staff including, but not limited to, the Town Centre First Heritage Revival Scheme (THRIVE) beneficiaries in integrating preservation, conservation, and sustainable adaptive reuse approaches in the detailed design stage of their STRAND 2 applications and in other similar future projects.

The primary target audience is local authority staff including (but not limited to) planners, town centre regeneration officers, conservation architects, archaeologists, conservation officers and heritage officers with responsibility for (a) implementing THRIVE Strand 2 funding awarded and (b) preparing future proposals and involvement in similar national or European schemes.

As well as increasing their capacity and engaging in great learning opportunities, attendees can look forward to hands-on exercises in workshops using both national and European case studies, informative plenary sessions, inspiring keynote speakers, site visits and ample time for networking with national and European counterparts.
