TRUST - T.R.U.S.T.: Technological Response for Unified Sociocare Transformation

Technology in cities

Ongoing

TRUST transforms Salamanca’s care system for dependent people by deploying AI-based voice recognition, IoT sensors and predictive analytics. The project streamlines administrative procedures, improves service coordination and also strengthens support for informal caregivers through a dedicated Caregiver Support Programme. All solutions will be showcased in the Innovation & Care Centre, a renovated municipal hub for training, testing and community engagement.

Our main challenges...

  • Salamanca’s ageing population and increasing dependency rates are putting pressure on care  systems that are complex, slow and under-resourced.

  • Social workers spend too much time on repetitive reporting tasks, reducing their ability to deliver personalised care and increasing the risk of professional burnout.

  • Non-professional (informal) caregivers face emotional fatigue, social isolation and limited support, often navigating the system alone without training or psychological resources.

and proposed solutions

  • Voice recognition tool for social workers to automatically generate reports during home visits, reducing paperwork and improving accuracy in dependency assessments.

  • IoT sensors installed in dependent people's homes to enable real-time monitoring, detect anomalies and improve care response through continuous data sharing with social workers.

  • Predictive analytics platform to anticipate increases in dependency or health risks, allowing early interventions and shifting the system from reactive to preventive.
