Bridging policies and places: Advancing Sustainable Urban Development through Territorial Impact Assessments
Territorial Impact Assessments (TIA) are tools used to evaluate how proposed policies, strategies or projects may affect different regions or territories. They help identify potential regional and local disparities and ensure balanced and sustainable urban and territorial development.
The workshop will bring together national, regional and local authorities to discuss how to advance sustainable urban development by tailoring policy frameworks to local needs through TIA methodologies.
The workshop will start by providing a comparative overview of practical local and regional examples and tools designed and tested by EU institutions.
Participants will improve their capacities by dissecting two methodologies in parallel working groups, with the goal to understand their benefits their applicability to their own policy agenda. Discussions will especially focus on the transferability and replicability experiences.

Who is invited?
The workshop is primarily addressed to Functional Urban Areas, metropolitan bodies, and urban authorities interested in exploring and applying TIA approaches.
In addition, regional and national authorities are also invited to join the discussions.
The workshop offers a unique opportunity for different levels of governance to come together, reflect on cooperation models, and exchange on how TIA can strengthen urban and regional development strategies.
