Strengthening cross-sectoral integration for urban regeneration

The regeneration of Beja’s city centre is one focus of the broader, intermunicipal Baixo Alentejo Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) strategy. Overall priorities include sustainable mobility, digital access to services, and affordable housing. Beja sees potential for greater cross-sectoral integration in its work, but faces challenges linked to technical assessments and departmental coordination. Inspired by Novo Mesto’s success in cross-sector integration, Beja joined this City-to-City Exchange looking for recommendations and practical advice to enhance collaboration and streamline its urban development efforts.
