Digital transition for functional urban areas
Brno has been working to promote the digital transition and develop smart city initiatives for residents, with projects such as the city services e-shop and open data portal already in place. To improve its implementation of city and regional development strategies, Brno decided to take its digital transition a step further, and gain advice, inspiration and practical tools from the digitally-advanced city of Tallinn. A key question was how to make services like e-government, smart transportation, and digital access better for all citizens. Brno wanted to expand its use of digital tools, build trust with residents of all ages and backgrounds, and encourage more women to work in IT.
