Welcoming SHIFT Coimbra to Copenhagen: Sharing ideas on sustainable tourism
On September 23-24 we had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from our EUI sister project SHIFT Coimbra to Copenhagen.
Over two days, we exchanged perspectives on sustainable tourism, citizen engagement, and digital innovation – all central themes in both CULTIGEN and Coimbra’s initiatives.
The program included:
- Insights into Copenhagen’s approach to AI-driven tourism solutions
- A visit to the Copenhagen Visitor Service and its new tools for guests
- A deep dive into CULTIGEN’s upcoming Urban Listening Toolkit with Aalborg University
- Exploring the Citizen Assembly methodology together with We Do Democracy, that is essential in the CULTIGEN project.
We were inspired by Coimbra’s strong focus on entrepreneurship, culture, and education – represented by partners from the Municipality of Coimbra, Polytechnic University, University of Coimbra, Instituto Pedro Nunes, Present Technologies, and more.
Exchanges like these are at the heart of CULTIGEN’s mission: to co-create balanced, inclusive, and sustainable tourism models that can benefit cities across Europe.
A huge thank you to our colleagues from Coimbra for the engaging discussions – we look forward to continuing our collaboration!
