Swimming zone Keerdok
by Water As The Source of Urban Public Space
Discover the project
Due to the hot weather at the end of June, we opened our summer swimming zone at Keerdok a few days early. For now, it will remain open until September 7.
But with the Binnendijle Masterplan, we are working towards a permanent, year-round swimming zone.
This summer, we are experimenting with different setups: mornings without lifeguards and afternoons with lifeguard supervision.
Meanwhile, our designers are developing the plans for the permanent swimming area. Throughout August, a mobile info point will be available where you can view the proposals and share your feedback.
On September 7, together with the city’s urban development team, we will host Sfeerdok.
Here, you can:
Explore the design plans,
Experience VR overviews from different viewpoints along the swimming zone, and
Step into an immersive installation that lets you experience the site through the eyes of local wildlife, as well as feel the effects of urban heat and cooling water.
We’d love to hear your ideas and impressions!
