On 19 May, the SHARE project held its awards ceremony for the architectural competition, celebrating the creativity and dedication of all participating teams. The event took place in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, bringing together key stakeholders and honoring the winning proposals.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Mayor of Fuenlabrada, Javier Ayala; the Dean of the Architects' Association of Madrid (COAM), Sigfrido Herráez; and the Secretary of State for the Urban Agenda, Housing and Urban Planning, Iñaqui Carnicero.
Mayor Ayala highlighted the project’s potential to transform disused public buildings and create new opportunities for the city. COAM Dean Herráez commended the Fuenlabrada City Council for launching the competition within the framework of the New European Bauhaus initiative, recognizing its vision and ambition. Secretary of State Carnicero stressed the importance of continued urban action to ensure cities remain vibrant and livable.
All participating teams were acknowledged for their contributions, with the winning firm, Entresitio, receiving special recognition. In their acceptance, the team praised the overall quality of the proposals and acknowledged the impressive efforts of their peers.
