On May 19, the SHARE Project was formally presented to the public at a well-attended event in Fuenlabrada’s Town Hall assembly hall. The session, which attracted around 200 residents, included the announcement of the winning design for the San Esteban school renovation, details on access criteria for future residents, and an open dialogue with citizens. The event marked a key step in building transparency and public engagement around this innovative, EUI-co-financed initiative.

The SHARE Project was officially presented to the citizens of Fuenlabrada on the afternoon of May 19 at a public event held in the Town Hall’s assembly hall. The presentation attracted significant local interest, with around 200 people attending to learn more about the project’s progress and upcoming implementation phases.

The event served as a key moment for public engagement, highlighting transparency and community involvement as central to the project’s ethos. During the session, the winning proposal for the San Esteban school renovation competition was announced—an important milestone in transforming the site into a model of inclusive, community-oriented housing.

Citizens were also informed about the main access criteria for participation in the project, which are designed to include both younger and older populations. A detailed technical presentation explained the SHARE project's goals, its phased approach, and how the selection process will be structured for the two participating resident groups.

Mayor Javier Ayala opened the event by emphasizing the strategic importance of the project for the city and the significance of securing co-financing from the European Urban Initiative (EUI). He praised the collaborative work of all project partners and the potential of SHARE to serve as a blueprint for sustainable, inclusive urban development.

Following the presentations, an open Q&A session allowed attendees to voice questions and concerns. All queries were addressed by the project team, many of which had already been anticipated in the planning stages. This interaction demonstrated both the public's strong interest and the preparedness of the SHARE team.

Several attendees inquired about the registration process, while others—such as people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users—expressed interest in adapted and affordable housing solutions. Their input reinforced the need to ensure accessibility and inclusivity remain at the core of the project.

From the perspective of the project partnership, the event was energizing. The high turnout and active participation reaffirmed the importance of continuing to engage with the community as the SHARE Project moves forward. It marked not only a milestone in public communication but also a renewed commitment to making the SHARE vision a reality in Fuenlabrada.
