The International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG) hosted a presentation of the SHARE Project's Continuous Participatory Action Evaluation model at its Virtual Symposium in 2025.

Project SHARE’s Continuous Participatory Action Evaluation model was featured at the 2025 Virtual Symposium of the International Association for Social Work with Groups (IASWG), held from June 11 to 13 under the theme “Group Work Now: Renewal and Change through Solidarity.”

The presentation explored how the SHARE model integrates citizens into knowledge generation and decision-making processes in the evaluation of urban public policies. Drawing on the theoretical foundations of Participatory Action Research (PAR), the session outlined the model’s phases of implementation in complex environments and shared key lessons learned throughout its application in Project SHARE.

Particular emphasis was placed on the model’s transformative potential—empowering communities, enhancing accountability, and reinforcing the legitimacy and sustainability of participatory processes. The presentation also offered practical recommendations for improving participatory methodologies in social and urban policy contexts.

IASWG, a global leader in advancing group work, fosters excellence in practice, research, and education while promoting solidarity and mutual respect across disciplines. Its mission centers on inclusive, diversity-oriented models that generate tangible impacts at both local and international levels.

Open to practitioners, educators, and students, the virtual symposium served as a platform for reflecting on current challenges in group work and exploring methodological innovations, particularly in urban and community-based settings.
