by Nature-based Urban Regeneration through Water: Integrating the water cycle in urban renaturalization Discover the project
On September 30 and October 1, the city of Mantova (Italy) hosted an inspiring two-day meeting of the Transfer Cities involved in the NatUR-W project under the European Urban Initiative (#EUI).

Representatives from Mantova (Italy), Lorca (Spain), Fyli (Greece), and Sligo (Ireland) came together to share progress, exchange experiences, and strengthen cooperation in advancing sustainable urban transformation and climate resilience across Europe.

Throughout the sessions, participants explored:
🍃 Urban regeneration and nature-based solutions through field visits to the Paiolo Area, Parco Te, and Tasso Road, highlighting innovative approaches to green infrastructure and land-use planning.

🍃 A thematic seminar on water management and climate adaptation, featuring best practices and creative solutions to address environmental challenges.

🍃 A boat tour of the Mantova lakes, offering a unique perspective on the city’s harmonious relationship between water, heritage, and sustainability.

The event fostered meaningful dialogue, hands-on learning, and a shared commitment to designing cities that are greener, more inclusive, and better prepared for future climate challenges.

✨ A heartfelt thank you to all partners and hosts, especially the Municipality of Mantova, for their warm hospitality, excellent organization, and dedication to sustainable urban innovation.
