by Nature-based Urban Regeneration through Water: Integrating the water cycle in urban renaturalization Discover the project
We are proud to share that Mr. Dionisios Latinopoulos from the CIMWRM, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) represented NatUR-W at the 64th European Regional Science Association (ERSA) Congress, held in Athens, 26-29 August 2025, under the theme “Regional Science in Turbulent Times: In search of a resilient, sustainable and inclusive future”

His presentation, “Co-designing urban nature-based solutions by applying an innovative GreenThermoWalls system for energy efficiency and climate change adaptation in the NatUR-W project”, showcased:
🔹 The integration of GreenThermoWalls (GTW), self-sustaining green walls using recycled bio-based materials for insulation and urban cooling.
🔹 How Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can help tackle energy poverty, climate adaptation, and urban regeneration.
🔹 The participatory approach of NatUR-W, combining citizen engagement, water-cycle management, and innovative NbS to build more resilient and inclusive cities.

Congratulations to our partners from CIMWRM AUTh, SingularGreen, NBSClimate, Lorca City Council, and INDRESMAT for their collaborative work that made this contribution possible.
