The EUI programme offer in Ireland!
Since becoming the Urban Contact Point in quarter 4, 2023, the European Urban Initiative (EUI) was presented at several events. Among these, this included the launch of the URBACT call for Innovation Transfer Networks at the Custom House on 25th of January. That event was well attended with local authority staff from throughout Ireland joining us on the day. The EMRA holds the Contact Point role for both programmes, following its appointment as URBACT National Contact Point in 2018. This joint role allows the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) to offer the EUI and URBACT menu of options to all local authorities throughout Ireland.

The EUI programme was presented by UCP for Ireland, Karl Murphy, to elected members of the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly on December 8th, and to the elected members of the Southern Regional Assembly on February 16th. It was the second time it was presented in February, having also been highlighted alongside other EU programmes during the Association of Irish Regions’ Conference in Adare, Limerick. Karl will present the Programme to elected members of the Northern and Western Regional Assembly in Roscommon on March 15th.
