EPIC officially launched in Prato: a new vision for industrial tourism
EPIC was officially launched on April 4 at Centro Pecci. Funded by the EUI, the 42-month project will make Prato a hub for innovative industrial tourism, blending real and virtual experiences. Co-designed with local partners, EPIC promotes year-round, immersive tourism beyond traditional routes.

The launch event of EPIC – Experience Prato Industrial Culture took place on April 4 at Centro Pecci, marking the official start of a 42-month journey that will position Prato as a European hub for innovative and sustainable industrial tourism.

Funded by the European Urban Initiative (EUI) and building on the success of TIPO – Turismo Industriale Prato, EPIC will enhance the city’s industrial heritage through an integrated tourism offer combining real and virtual experiences. From fashion and textile excellence to immersive content powered by VR and AI, visitors will be able to explore Prato in a new, engaging way—anytime and from anywhere.

Co-designed with local stakeholders, the project aims to develop new tourism products and promote a never-ending tourism model that extends beyond seasonality and brings value to lesser-known areas of the city.
