The EUI’s “Transfer” component enables the adaptation and replication of innovative solutions in other European cities. Michalovce, Slavonski Brod, and Verviers will follow the AQUAGREEN project to test its transferability in their local contexts.

A key component of the projects funded by the European Urban Initiative (EUI) programme is the so-called “Transfer” element. While the main goal of EUI projects remains the testing of new and innovative solutions within a specific urban context, this component aims to enhance their adaptability and transferability to other urban areas across the EU.

Three partner cities from different European countries (Transfer Partners) will follow the processes and outcomes of the pilot implementation and assess the feasibility of replicating the innovative action within their own local contexts. In the AQUAGREEN project, the Transfer Partners are: Michalovce (Slovakia), Slavonski Brod (Croatia), and Verviers (Belgium).

For the Transfer process, the Union of Romagna Faentina is supported by a Transfer Expert appointed by the programme itself. With this assistance, the structure and development of the transfer activities are being planned. These aspects were discussed with the Transfer Partners during an online first meeting held at the end of May 2025. These necessary preliminary steps will be completed by October, with the  opening site visit in Faenza and the official launch of the Transfer phase.
