The ALLOCATE Kick‑Off event, held on 26 November 2025 at the ICT City in A Coruña, marked the official start of the European Urban Initiative aimed at advancing responsible Artificial Intelligence to improve urban services. The venue—located in the renovated former Arms Factory complex—served as a symbolic setting for a project focused on technological transformation and innovation.
The Mayoress of A Coruña opened the event with a welcome address and an overview of the project, followed by the screening of an introductory video. Representatives from the partner organizations and the State Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA) presented their perspectives on the project’s goals and opportunities.
A technical round table brought together experts from public administration, academia and the ICT sector to discuss how ALLOCATE can support companies in developing AI‑based solutions for urban challenges. A second session featured an interview with AMTEGA’s Director General on AI action plans in Galicia.
The event also served as a networking platform, with a coffee break, working lunch and a final technical meeting that included delivery partners, EUI experts and transfer partners both onsite and online.
The day concluded with a commitment to advancing project implementation. The launch attracted broad media coverage, underscoring A Coruña’s growing role as a leader in ethical and sustainable AI development.
