The Viana S+T+ARTS Centre is a fully city-led initiative. The conversion of a degraded municipal building with historic value into a Blue Innovation creativity centre is firmly anchored in the local political strategy, and simultaneously aligned with Viana do Castelo´s economic and demographic needs. This pilot project is a vital experimentation platform for the municipality to demonstrate innovative energy-efficient, carbon-neutral and circular construction solutions that can harness local resources and be replicated and scaled up in future sustainable rehabilitation processes. This is key to the Municipality achieving its aspirations for a sustainable transition and meeting climate neutrality targets. The MUA will lead key project activities linked to coordination, preparation and implementation of the construction and transfer activities.

Transfer partners

Transfer Partners are urban authorities that join the EUI-Innovative Action project to observe and learn. Their primary aim is to enhance the adaptability of the project's solutions to different urban contexts within the EU. These partners play a crucial role in facilitating knowledge exchange among EU cities and fostering innovation. They come from different EU member states than the project Main Urban Authority and participate during the project's implementation phase. Each project generally involves three Transfer Partners. The involvement of Transfer Partners is vital for ensuring the project's innovative solutions are effectively adaptable and replicable in various contexts across the EU.

Transfer Partners are being identified, details will be available by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
