A Coruña
ALLOCATE - Accelerating Local Leadership by Open Computing and AI for Technological Empowerment
Location
ALLOCATE takes place in A Coruña, a coastal city in northwest Spain with an important profile in the ICT ecosystem of the country. It hosts key assets for the project, such as the Spanish Agency for AI Supervision (AESIA), a technology hub in the Cidade das TIC, and a university with a chair in green and ethical algorithms. This makes an ideal environment to develop this project, where sustainability, collaboration, compliance and AI-based solutions are essential.
Urban authorities
The Municipality of A Coruña acts as the Main Urban Authority (MUA) and coordinator of the ALLOCATE project. It provides strategic leadership, ensures alignment with local digital and sustainability agendas, and facilitates access to urban infrastructure and data. The MUA also plays a central role in mobilising stakeholders, enabling experimentation through public services, and supporting the deployment, monitoring, and policy integration of AI-driven urban solutions.

SpainTransfer partners
Transfer Partners are urban authorities that join the EUI-Innovative Action project to observe and learn. Their primary aim is to enhance the adaptability of the project's solutions to different urban contexts within the EU. These partners play a crucial role in facilitating knowledge exchange among EU cities and fostering innovation. They come from different EU member states than the project Main Urban Authority and participate during the project's implementation phase. Each project generally involves three Transfer Partners. The involvement of Transfer Partners is vital for ensuring the project's innovative solutions are effectively adaptable and replicable in various contexts across the EU.
