We support urban areas of all sizes with innovative actions, capacity and knowledge building, policy development and communication on sustainable urban development.
What is EUI?
We provide opportunities for cities, as enablers of innovation, to take the risk and turn ambitious and creative ideas into pilot projects that can be tested in real urban settings.

We support EU cities to improve and increase their capacity in designing sustainable urban development strategies, policies and projects.
The knowledge and communication activities of EUI provide to cities accessible knowledge on sustainable urban development, know-how and information on urban matters.
Join us on 28th to 29th October in Hamburg for the first EU City Lab on Active Mobility co-organised by URBACT, the European Urban Initiative (EUI), and the city of Hamburg, Germany. The event will be held in person and in English, with interpretations available to and from German. Registration is open to all EU cities and participation of urban practitioners is strongly encouraged.
This City Lab is a unique occasion to:
Discover how Hamburg is putting active mobility into practice, including visits to local sites.
Learn how other European cities are addressing key mobility challenges through behaviour change, data and digital tools, and inclusive planning.
Exchange directly with city peers and experts on effective methods for scaling up integrated and active mobility.
Bring home new ideas, tools, and inspiration to strengthen mobility planning in your city.
