Digital transition in the role of sUstainablE Tourism - DUET

Varaždin planned to create a new tourism mobile app to boost sustainable tourism and welcome visitors with engaging, up-to-date information. The city needed to improve its digital tourism infrastructure to enhance the visitor experience, and capitalise on Varaždin’s sustainable tourism potential. It would be a way to attract and retain visitors, and develop innovative tourism-related activities together with local residents, businesses, cultural institutions and service providers. Varaždin decided to learn from Plasencia, a similarly sized city that had developed its own tourism app and was ready to share its experiences.
